Cozy Books to Teach Gratitude and Thanksgiving

Updated: Nov 2, 2024

November is here, with its crisp air, cozy blankets, and time spent around the table together. As homeschool moms, we know the value of using each season to teach our children not just academics, but the deeper values that enrich their lives. Thanksgiving gives us a beautiful opportunity to nurture gratitude, kindness, and reflection, and what better way to introduce these than through a good book? This month, I’ve put together a collection of Thanksgiving and gratitude-themed books that make for meaningful read-alouds and quiet reading time with your younger children.

Each of these selections, from classic tales to stories of thankfulness rooted in faith, will encourage your children to see the beauty of gratitude and the warmth of family traditions. As you share these books together, you’ll find they spark thoughtful conversations and bring an extra touch of gratitude to your homeschool days.
